Fitbit Edge: Price and Specifications of Google's New Tracker

Google has unveiled the Fitbit Edge, its second band of the year. Following the Fitbit Air model in May, this is the brand's first tracker with an AMOLED display. The Fitbit Edge price and specifications show that it focuses on a larger screen, more accurate GPS, and a battery that users can replace themselves. The device costs $179.99, pre-orders are already open, and sales start on October 27, 2026.

Display and Design

The AMOLED panel has a diagonal of 1.34 inches and is protected by Gorilla Glass 3. Compared to the Charge 6 from 2023, the display is 46 percent larger. The body is 11.58 mm thick and made of aluminum using nano-molding technology. As a result, GPS is 40 percent more accurate than on the Charge 6, according to Google. The band is dust and water resistant to IP68 / 5ATM. Without the strap, it weighs 17.7 grams and measures 39.22 x 25.56 x 11.58 mm.

Battery and Charging

Battery life reaches up to seven days if the always-on display is turned off. With it on, it drops to about two days. Five minutes of charging is enough for a day of operation, and a full charge takes about 90 minutes. The cell capacity is 65 mAh. For the first time in a Fitbit, users can replace the battery themselves. It charges with the same magnetic USB-C cable as the Fitbit Air.

Sensors and Features

The tracker has built-in GPS and an altimeter. On the bottom, you'll find an accelerometer, altimeter, ambient light sensor, skin temperature sensor, gyroscope, heart rate sensor, electrodes for ECG, and red and infrared sensors for SpO2. Users can track over 50 activities with real-time guidance, and artificial intelligence automatically recognizes more than 100 exercises. The device displays phone notifications, and on Android it supports quick replies, music control, and Google Maps navigation. However, NFC is missing, so Google Wallet does not work.

Price and Availability

The Fitbit Edge costs $179.99. The special Stephen Curry Edition is priced at $219.99 and offers a custom strap. Color options include Matte Black Aluminum, Polished Silver Aluminum, Satin Pyrite Aluminum, and Champagne Gold. Pre-orders are open, and sales begin on October 27, 2026. 9to5google reports that they opened today, while newscord.org says as early as October 12. A three-month Google Health Premium subscription is also included for free.

Other Details and First Reactions

According to Droid-Life, the tracker has Bluetooth 5.4, 64 MB of memory, and a mechanical button on the side. The same outlet mentions a Health Guardian feature for monitoring blood pressure and insulin resistance trends. 9to5google writes that the Fitbit Air, Edge, and Pixel Watch 5 can run on a single account with seamless switching. Additional straps cost $39.99 (Active Sport), $59.99 (Magnet Band), $149.99 (Metal Links), and $49.99 (Performance Loop). Mashable noted that the Edge's display is the largest and brightest in Fitbit history. "The watch face on the Edge marks the largest and brightest ever on a Fitbit," said Lauren Allain of Mashable. Commenter Mckillio on 9to5google praised the altimeter and the fact that the device is only 0.3 mm thicker.
