Samsung One UI 9 with Android 17 launches on Galaxy S26

Samsung has officially started rolling out the stable One UI 9 update, which runs on Android 17. The Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra are the first to receive it these days, as confirmed by Samsung in a post on Samsung Newsroom.

What One UI 9 and Android 17 bring

One UI 9 first appeared in July on the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Flip 8 series. After about four months of beta testing, the stable release is now arriving. According to Samsung, the update will gradually spread to other Galaxy devices, but exact timelines are not yet known.

New features in One UI 9

The update brings several new additions, including:

• My FanCam: automatic tracking and reframing of the subject in video
• Generative and Editable Cards on the Now Brief screen
• Warranty and Care details in the settings menu
• New Galaxy AI features: Now Nudge, Creative Studio, Interpreter, Document Scan, Voice Recorder
• Privacy and security features: Security Brief, Privacy Alerts, Scam Detection

List of devices that will get Android 17

In a note about the Privacy Alerts feature, Samsung published a partial list of devices that will receive Android 17. These include:

• Galaxy S26 and S26 Ultra
• Galaxy S25 and S25 FE
• Galaxy S24 and S24 FE
• Galaxy S23 and S23 FE
• Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7
• Galaxy Fold 6 and Flip 6
• Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5
• Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra and Tab S11
• Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra and Tab S10 Plus
• Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, Tab S9 Plus, and Tab S9

However, the list is not exhaustive. It is missing, for example, the Galaxy S26+, Galaxy S25+ and Ultra, and other models that have also been promised the update. Additionally, the list contains a typo, "Fol6," so it is more of an indicative overview than a complete list of all supported devices.
