Windows 11 to Get Major Update and New Adjustable Panel
The Windows 11 operating system will soon receive a significant update designed to respond to the most common user complaints. Microsoft has already confirmed that a comprehensive update is on the way, with some features in the final testing phase.
Changes in Control and Windows 11
The main new feature will be the ability to move and resize the adjustable panel. Users will also be able to customize the layout and size of the Start menu. These changes are already available to members of the Insider program and should reach other users within a few weeks.
In addition to visual changes, the update will bring other improvements:
- Faster and easier control thanks to new options in the context menu,
- Increased system reliability,
- Performance optimizations that will particularly help computers with low system memory capacity.
The Question of a New System Version
The scope of the changes raises discussion about whether Microsoft should release these new features under the name Windows 12. Windows 11 launched with controversy, particularly due to strict minimum hardware requirements that prevented upgrades for millions of computers. Criticism also targeted the limitations of the adjustable panel compared to previous versions.
Microsoft's current efforts under the K2 initiative show a direction toward fixing mistakes. However, there are concerns that a potential future Windows 12 version might focus too much on artificial intelligence and Copilot+ PCs, rather than addressing user interface shortcomings.
