Xbox Game Pass on Google TV: New App for TCL

Microsoft has officially confirmed a partnership with TCL to bring the Xbox Game Pass app to selected TCL TVs with Google TV. This new feature is expected to become available "in the coming months."

TCL announced that the Xbox Game Pass app will be available on its televisions during the CES 2026 trade show, which took place in January. This partnership marks the official introduction of the Xbox cloud gaming service to the Google TV platform.

According to Microsoft, players on supported TCL televisions will gain access to Xbox Cloud Gaming through a Game Pass subscription, allowing them to stream supported games directly from the TV. To do this, they will need a stable internet connection, a compatible controller, and a Microsoft account. Downloading games or connecting a game console is not required.

Among the televisions that will support this feature is the flagship TCL X11L series. However, Microsoft did not mention Google TV directly by name, suggesting that the app will likely be exclusive to TCL TVs and will not be available on all Google TV devices.

This news comes just a day after Microsoft announced changes to Xbox Game Pass cloud gaming, where players will now receive a maximum of 15 hours of gaming time per month, after which they will need to pay extra.
